*NOTE: Since August 23rd, my Mom has picked the order of the training camp player previews for the Reign players because I couldn’t figure out what order to do them in. So, I asked for her assistance. Today, she chose Kaleb Lawrence!
2025-26 season
Kaleb Lawrence’s 2025-26 campaign was forgettable. The former seventh-round pick suited up for the Reign in 16 games and missed a good portion of the season with an injury he suffered after the season’s opening weekend. When returning from injury, Lawrence was deployed sparingly as a fourth-line centerman.
Not guaranteed much playing time and still needed him to play, the Kings and Buffalo Sabres made a loan swap on March 9th. The Kings loaned Lawrence to Buffalo’s AHL affiliate in Rochester, while Buffalo loaned defenseman Nikita Novikov to the Reign. Lawrence played in 11 games for Rochester and recorded zero points and 43 penalty minutes.

Lawrence recorded three assists in 27 games with Ontario and Rochester combined.

2026-27 outlook
The giant centerman will be returning to the organization now that the loan swap is over. Lawrence returns to a Reign squad with depth at center, so it’s possible he sees time at both center and wing. Lawrence’s shot at making an NHL roster is slim to none, butlet’s hope he has a healthy season in the AHL.
