Season review

After six years in the Golden Knights’ organization, Saville signed a one-year AHL contract with the Reign. Saville returned to game action after missing all of the 2024-25 campaign with an injury. Expected to start the season in the ECHL with Greenville, Saville was promptly called up to the Reign after the Kings lost Pheonix Copley on waivers to the Tampa Bay Lightning.

Saville only appeared in one game — a victory in a relief appearance — before getting sent down when the Kings reacquired Copley. When Erik Portillo suffered an injury in November, he was called back up. In seven games upon his return, Saville won five of those starts and surrendered two goals or fewer in all of those wins, including two shutouts.

For Saville personally, I’m sure it had to feel good to post the numbers he did after missing out on a whole season of his development. It’s unclear what the future holds for him but hopefully his stint with the Reign and his numbers in Greenville (2.67 GAA and a .910 sv%) allow the Reign or another AHL/NHL team gives him a chance and signs him to a contract.
