Previous ranking: 5

With the graduation of Arthur Kaliyev from prospect to full-time NHLer, there isn’t a better goal scorer in the LA Kings’ prospect pipeline than Samuel Fagemo. I’ve long said that if he were given a full season with the Kings, he could easily score 15 goals. He’s that good.

While he may not have the same type of power from his shot as Kaliyev or Chromiak, it’s the accuracy and quickness he’s able to send pucks to the net. But, what gets lost in Fagemo’s goal-scoring ability is the two-way game he brings to the ice. He’s constantly one of the first players in on a forecheck or hustling on a back check to break up an opponent’s scoring chance.

Steven Ellis The Daily Faceoff

“I’m glad Fagemo got into some NHL action last year because his goal-scoring abilities deserved a shot. We know he can drive offense and has a great shot, and I’d expect he’ll get more NHL games this year. I’d like to see more improvements in the defensive zone, but Fagemo is someone to watch, for sure.”

Fagemo will be looked upon to be one of the Ontario Reign’s main offensive contributors, with Martin Frk no longer on the team. It was a significant loss for the Reign to lose Frk’s 40 goals just a season ago, but Samuel has the ability to produce close to that total if provided the ice time and power play opportunities.

Already with a couple of NHL games under his belt from last season, Fagemo could be one of the first forwards recalled from the Reign to the Kings roster if spots open up and goal-scoring is needed.
