Tyler Madden
Biography
Birthdate: November 9, 1999
Birthplace: Albany, New York
Height: 5’11”
Weight: 170 lbs
Position: Center/Wing

Drafted: 3rd round, 68th overall, 2018 NHL Entry Draft by the Vancouver Canucks
2021-2022 Season
The 2021-2022 season marked the first full season for the Northeastern University product. In 48 games, Madden posted 14 goals, 17 assists, and 31 points. His 31 points were good for 7th in scoring on the Reign. It was a good bounce-back year for Madden, who was used up and down the lineup after only playing 14 games in the shortened season the year prior.
In March, Madden suffered an injury in a game against the Barracuda and would be out of the lineup for the rest of the regular season and the Reign’s first-round matchup against the Gulls. He did make it back in time for the Reign’s Pacific Division Semifinals matchup against the Colorado Eagles but was swept in three games.

2022-2023 Outlook
Madden, like some of his fellow Reign teammates, is entering his final year in his entry-level contract – it seems like the LA Kings will be busy with plenty of RFAs next offseason. Getting him healthy and playing most of the season will be a big plus for the offensive-minded Reign team.
There is a lot to like about Madden’s game. The first word that comes to mind with Madden is versatility. Madden was able to play anywhere in the top nine last year at both center and the wing. Madden also saw time on both special teams’ units as well. Having a player like that where you can plug them anywhere in the lineup can bring value to the team.
For this season, I expect Madden to be used up and down the lineup. It’ll be interesting to see which line he starts the season on, but his versatility can place him anywhere in the top nine, preferably the second and third line.
