Although Ward wasn’t extended a qualifying offer, the LA Kings re-signed him quickly. Ward’s deal is a one-year, two-way contract with an annual average value (AAV) of $775,000. In 71 games last year in the AHL for the Ontario Reign, Ward recorded nine goals and 17 assists for 26 points. It was his first full season as a professional.
Last month I did an article on the restricted free agents for the Ontario Reign and I predicted Ward would return (If you want to see my predictions for the other restricted free agents for the Ontario Reign, click HERE). Ward is a sure bet to start the 2023-2024 season in Ontario.
