LA Kings recall two, designate Arvidsson as non-roster player

Following the 6-5 overtime loss in Columbus, the LA Kings have made a few roster moves.

The LA Kings have recalled forward Rasmus Kupari and defenseman Jordan Spence from the Ontario Reign of the AHL. Additionally, the team has placed forward Viktor Arvidsson has been designated non-roster player status.

Drew Doughty missed the game against the Columbus Blue Jackets Sunday night. Doughty is day-to-day. To note, with the call-up of right-shot defender Jordan Spence, Doughty could miss additional time.

Spence has 21 points in 22 AHL games this year. The 21-year-old blueliner had eight points in 24 NHL games with the LA Kings in the 2021-22 season.

With Arvidsson being out, Kupari slots into the roster. We have yet to learn where he will play. Kupari has two goals and five points in 16 NHL games this year, as well as nine points in 11 games in the AHL.

The status of Viktor Arvidsson is unknown and the details of his return remain unclear. Arvidsson has spent the season on the LA Kings’ top-six group. He also has 22 points in 29 games with the Kings this year.

The LA Kings now have 13 forwards and eight defensemen on their roster. It is likely that things will change, as we will find out further from Todd McLellan later. The LA head coach will clarify these roster moves following their practice in Buffalo on Monday.

The LA Kings play their 32nd game of the season Tuesday night in Buffalo against Tage Thompson and the Buffalo Sabres.
