2021-2022 Season

Alan Quine has been a productive AHL player in his career (267 points in 324 games). In 2021-22, the Belleville native had 22 assists and 28 points in 39 games, including scoring his 100th career professional goal in an April win over the San Jose Barracuda:

The 29-year-old has spent the bulk of the past three seasons in the AHL, though he last appeared in the NHL with the Calgary Flames. Quine does have 10 goals and 28 points in 106 NHL games, including a playoff double overtime winner while with the New York Islanders back in 2016:

2022-23 Outlook

After losing veterans Martin Frk and Brett Sutter from the forward group, Quine was signed in August to bring plenty of AHL – and professional – experience to a very young Ontario Reign team. Given the center depth in Ontario, I’d expect Quine to replace Sutter as the fourth-line center.

The Belleville native should bring some depth scoring to the Reign. His .72 points per game in 2021-22 would have ranked him fifth among Reign forwards with at least 30 games played.

While I wouldn’t expect the veteran forward to get a look with the LA Kings, it doesn’t hurt that he has NHL experience under his belt if a role is needed to be filled in LA.
