2025-26 season
Mattias Sholl signed an AHL contract with the Reign after playing four games with the ECHL’s Greenville Swamp Rabbits once his four-year collegiate career ended. Sholl’s signing was a homecoming. Born in Hermosa Beach, California, Sholl played one game for the Reign, allowing four goals in a 6-3 loss to the San Jose Barracuda on December 21st in his AHL debut. For the rest of the season, Sholl spent it in the ECHL with Greenville. Sholl posted an 8-9-2 record, a 2.77 GAA, a .911 SV%, and one shutout in 22 games.

2026-27 outlook
Sholl re-signed with the Reign to a one-year AHL contract on July 23rd. The Reign are projected to have quite a few goalies, so, like Flores, Sholl is expected to be assigned to the ECHL with the Greenville Swamp Rabbits. If any injuries or call-ups happen to the Reign netminders, he’ll be an option for a call-up.
Signed & Sealed!! ✍️
We’ve signed goaltenders Mattias Sholl & Owen Flores and forward Ryan O’Hara to AHL contracts through the 2026-27 season!
