2025-26 season

Henry Brzustewicz, the Kings’ 2025 first-round pick, saw an increased role in his third season with the OHL-London Knights. London’s roster went through an overhaul over the summer, with plenty of key players from its 2025 Memorial Cup championship turning pro; as a result, Brzustewicz played top-four minutes and often on the top pair.

The 19-year-old two-way defenseman played a lot of minutes at 5v5 and on both special teams units. He was often paired with fellow Kings prospect Jared Woolley before Woolley was traded to the Kitchener Rangers. Bruzstewicz led the new-look Knights in scoring with 54 points in 59 games. He added two helpers in five playoff games as London got bounced in the opening round by the Soo Greyhounds.

After London’s playoff exit, Bruzstewicz signed his entry-level contract and reported to the Reign. He played in the final five regular-season games and all five playoff games, being paired with captain Joe Hicketts.

We have signed D Henry Brzustewicz to a three-year entry level contract through the 2028-29 season.

Brzustewicz will report to the @OntarioReign on a PTO for the remainder of the 2025-26 season.

2026-27 outlook

Bruzstewicz is in an interesting spot. With the new rule of NHL organizations allowing one 19-year-old CHL prospect to play in the AHL, Bruzstewicz is eligible to play for the Reign if the Kings opt to use the rule. If they feel he could beenfit another year in the OHL playing a ton of minutes, then obviously they won’t assign him to the AHL.

My opnion is I vote for the Kings placing him in the AHL. He was played in meaningful games down the stretch, so why not have your first-round pick closer to you to track his development. There is also a good chance he make’s Team USA’s U-20 World Junior squad as well.
