2025-26 season
Like most of the Kings, it was a year to forget for Trevor Moore. Two years removed from potting 30 goals at a 12.7% shooting percentage, the Thousand Oaks native has come back down to earth, scoring 18 and 13 goals in the past two years. Moore missed 13 games this past season with an injury and illness, which could have hampered his play.

His underlying metrics of CF% (54.6%), SCF% (55.1%), and HDCF% (57.5%), according to Natural Stat Trick, were solid. Those numbers mean the Kings controlled the puck and generated chances. However, the results that mattered more were nowhere to be found: scoring goals. Moore finished the season with 13 goals and 32 points in 69 games.

2026-27 outlook
Do I think Moore will replicate his 30-goal season from three years ago under new head coach Peter Laviolette’s system? No. Do I think scoring 15-20 goals is plausible? Yes. Moore is a solid depth piece you can plug in on the third line and penalty kill and get 30-40 points from. That 30-goal season may have been an anomaly, but it isn’t outlandish to believe a 15-20-goal season could be in the cards if healthy, considering he has hovered around that range in every other season besides his 30-goal one.
