A week has passed, and it’s time for another LA Kings prospect update. If you are a goalie enthusiast, this one is for you because not one but TWO goalie prospects highlighted this week’s update. Those two goalies are Hampton Slukynsky and Carter George.
George, 18, made his professional debut in the AHL with the Ontario Reign after being assigned to the Reign four days after his OHL season ended. The talented netminder didn’t disappoint in his debut as he stopped all 33 shots he faced to record his first professional shutout. George also made big, timely stops throughout the game, showcasing why he was one of the top-ranked goalies this past draft. He looked confident, and the moment didn’t seem too big for him. He’ll most likely return to the OHL next season.

Carter George after earning a shutout in his pro debut tonight:
“I’m feeling incredible right now. It’s a pretty surreal feeling to be able to win a game like that. It’s been kind of a crazy week but I’m just trying to take it day-by-day and I’m happy to be here with this team.”

George also gave credit to Reign goaltending coach Adam Brown, who told him earlier this week to trust and believe in himself, that he was good enough to be here.
“That kind of flipped the switch for me halfway through the week and in practice and it really helped me tonight.”
