The LA Kings are closer to securing a playoff spot, but one of their prospects, Liam Greentree, has been outstanding to start the OHL playoffs. Greentree, selected by the Kings in the draft this past summer, was a big factor in his team’s first-round series victory over the Soo Greyhounds. He was exceptional in all five games, culminating in a five-point performance in the Windsor Spitfires’ 8-4 series clincher.

Greentree is the captain of the Spitfires and led and played like one in this series. The 19-year-old recorded a hat-trick and two assists in Windsor’s game five victory to advance to the second round, and recorded at least one point in every game. All five of Greentree’s points were primary, and four were on the power play. He led Windsor in goals for the series (7) and was tied for the team lead in points (15) with his linemate Ilya Protas.

The power forward is LA’s number-one prospect, who can create plays for himself and teammates and also has a good shot.
