LA Kings Prospect Update – Week 12/2

A week has passed, and it’s time for another LA Kings prospect update. This weekly update was highlighted by the Kings’ second-round pick from the 2021 draft, Francesco Pinelli. Pinelli recorded three points (1 G, 2 A) in three games for the Ontario Reign last week, including a multi-point game in the Reign’s 5-3 loss to the Texas Stars.

Pinelli has nine points (3 G, 6 A) in 20 games, an improvement from his four points (3 G, 1 A) in his first 20 games last season. The difference in Pinelli’s game this year is his grit and confidence with the puck in the middle of the ice; he’s not timid when the puck is on his stick If Pinelli keeps this play up consistently the production will increase and the two-way game will keep improving. This year and next are critical for his development if he wants to have a spot on the Kings in the future.
