It’s Thanksgiving and while there is no hockey today, there is so much to be thankful for. If you have followed me long enough you know that most of the articles I write for Hockey Royalty are Ontario Reign-related; that is not the case today. The Reign doesn’t play today, so I should take a day off, right? No. What? No day off. Today, I will be doing something different. It’s the day of giving thanks and there’s too much to fit in one tweet, so why not here?
First, I am thankful for Ryan Sikes, Russell Morgan, and Joe Patarino. I wouldn’t have the chance to be able to contribute Reign recaps, prospect updates, and more if it weren’t for them. Nearly three years ago they took a chance on, at the time, a 23-year-old with no experience. Under their tutelage, I have learned a lot and try to keep growing and improving every day.
I am also thankful for my family, mainly my dad, and friends who have believed in me and helped me along the way to get to this point, and the Ontario Reign providing me with a full-season media credential for this season to provide in-game and post-game analysis on the Reign. I wouldn’t be able to do what I love doing here at Hockey Royalty without their support. Lastly, I am extremely thankful for someone I have known for the last two years who has been like a mother figure to me. She’s always pushed me to follow my heart and dreams, even when I doubt myself. For that, I will always be thankful for her!
