Reign and Kings fans, here is a message from me to you!

Dear Reign/Kings/Hockey Royalty fans,

With the AHL and NHL seasons ending this past Monday, another season is in the books! My third season (second full one) is now history. I planned to write this for a while, but as my final school semester ended around the time the Reign season ended and spending time with family and friends, I finally got to it.

From the time the Ontario Reign season ended until now, I have received some thank yous for the Reign coverage I provided for Hockey Royalty during the season. While I am not affiliated with the Reign in any capacity, I am very thankful for the support and following I have received.

Before I start giving thanks, I want to say a short story. Before the season started, I received a message on Twitter/X from someone to cover the LA Kings for the Sporting Tribune website (I will keep the person’s name confidential). I thought about it and was close, but I realized I wasn’t ready for that workload while still in school. Ultimately, I stayed at Hockey Royalty and wanted to improve my coverage and skillset. In the end, I think I made the right decision. Will another opportunity come up? We’ll see, but I’m happy with where I’m currently at.

First, I would like to thank Russell Morgan, Joe Patarino, and Ryan Sikes for allowing me to join a wonderful Hockey Royalty team in January 2022. I was very fortunate to join an amazing team, and it’s something I never will take for granted. I will always be grateful for them taking a chance on me and I will make sure to never let them down.

Second, I would like to thank Jared Shafran, the Reign insider and media relations of the Reign, for allowing me to attend games with a single-game press pass for Reign home games of my choosing. Mr. Shafran was always helpful with any assistance I needed. I wouldn’t have the opportunity to provide in-game analysis and post-game quotes from the players and Marco Sturm if it wasn’t for him.

Lastly, I would like to thank YOU! Your support and following for my coverage on the Reign and the Hockey Royalty website means a lot. While I don’t attend every game, I catch every Reign game in the stands or on AHLTV if I’m not in the press box, and I always look forward to providing great coverage and game recaps for you. You deserve it! Throughout the past two seasons, I never anticipated getting the big following I have received and I owe you all big time.

While summer is here, my offseason goal is to get ready and improve for the 2024-25 season. There is always something to improve on. Next season, is the 10th AHL season in Reign history, so let’s make it a good one!
