The Ontario Reign will begin their 16th season (9th in the AHL) of play on October 13th as they take on the San Diego Gulls.

For the second straight season, the Ontario Reign will play 72 games. They will face the other nine teams in the Pacific Division eight times as there are no matchups against teams outside the division again this year.

Some schedule notes:

  • The Reign will play 19 back-to-backs, two more than their previous season (17).
  • The first three games for the Reign will be against their rivals from the South, the Gulls.
  • The Reign will play in only one A.M. game this year as they visit the Henderson Silver Knights on Friday, October 27th, their first A.M. game since the 2021-2022 season.
  • Unlike last season, they’ll face the defending Western Conference champion Coachella Valley Firebirds in the first month of the season, Wednesday, October 25th (the first matchup last year between the two teams was in December).
  • November 3rd will probably be circled on the calendar of every Reign player returning from last season as they return to Colorado for a weekend series against the Eagles where they got eliminated from the Calder Cup playoffs in April. It’ll also mark the return of new Reign forward Charles Hudon, (And Mikhail Maltsev and Andreas Englund, but it depends on Englund’s roster status at that time) who was the leading scorer for the Eagles last season.
  • The season begins with a two-game series at home against the San Diego Gulls (October 13th and 15th) and will end in a two-game series on the road against the Colorado Eagles (April 20th and 21st).

All Reign games can be seen on AHLTV. The Reign Train starts rolling in 92 days!
