Dear Kings/Reign/Hockey Royalty fans,

What a fantastic season it was! Over the past few weeks, I have been receiving a lot of thank you and encouragement messages on my coverage for the Ontario Reign this year (and a little bit of the LA Kings). While I’m not an insider or affiliated with the team in any capacity, I am thankful for the support and thank yous I have received over the past few weeks.

First off, we need to give a big thank you to Ryan Sikes, Joe Patarino, and Russell Morgan. In January 2022, I was very fortunate to join a tremendous Hockey Royalty team when they were looking for a motivated writer or two to help them with Ontario Reign recaps. Every day I am grateful they gave me a chance and will never take it for granted. I wouldn’t be doing this without them taking a chance on a 24-year-old who was looking to get his feet wet in this capacity, after all, it is what I’m majoring in school right now

Lastly, I want to thank ALL of you who followed along with me this year! While I just watch the games in person or on AHLTV, I always look forward to doing those Reign recaps after every game win or lose, and those weekly prospect updates. When I first started doing some Ontario Reign game recaps last year, I’ll be honest, I never anticipated the big following that I got this year. You made it so much fun and gave me the energy to provide updates on the Reign this year. I am very fortunate and lucky to experience this. I always enjoy the questions, comments, and concerns you give me on Twitter that you have about the Reign. I enjoyed those discussions.

While my first full year helping Hockey Royalty cover the Ontario Reign is complete, I already can’t wait for my second full season coming up in October. Even though I have received great support, I always look for improvement and that is my goal this Summer so I can do better for the 2023-2024 season. You are the best and I wouldn’t be in this position without you. I really should be the one giving out a big thank you to ALL of you.

Let’s hope for a great 2023-2024 season for the Ontario Reign!
