LA Kings make an AHL depth trade with the Montreal Canadiens

Early Friday morning the LA Kings announced that they made an AHL depth trade with the Montreal Canadiens.

Frederic Allard, who was acquired at last year’s trade deadline, was traded to the Montreal Canadiens. In return, the Kings got centerman, Nate Schnarr. Allard appeared in 35 games for the Ontario Reign and recorded seven points. He spent most of the season on the third defensive pair. I don’t know too much about Nate Schnarr as I don’t follow the Laval Rocket that much. Looking at his stats for this year, the 24-year-old has seven points in 27 games for the Laval Rocket. With the Ontario Reign having a few guys banged up at the center position, adding depth makes sense.

The trade deadline is less than an hour away. We’ll see if Rob Blake makes other moves.
