Jarret Anderson-Dolan shines in a key win

Jarret Anderson-Dolan had perhaps the best game of his NHL career in last night’s win over the Sharks. He was all over the ice. His linemates, Rasmus Kupari and Arthur Kaliyev were also quite good, providing two goals for LA from the trio at 5v5.

JAD is somewhat overlooked when talking about the plethora of LA Kings prospects. As the 41st overall pick in the 2017 NHL draft, there’s still plenty of potential that can be unlocked from the young forward. If he solidifies a spot in the bottom six and continues to produce, he’ll be a solid addition for a Kings team desperate for some consistency.

Viktor Arvidsson continues to produce

It gets lost a little how important Viktor Arvidsson is to the LA Kings. With another multi-point performance, Arvidsson has ten points (2g,8a) in his last ten games. He’s now tied with his linemates Phillip Danault and Trevor Moore for third place on the team in points with 16.

The key for Arvidsson is always been health. When Viktor is on the ice for the Kings, he’s one of their best offensive players and an important piece to this team’s success. It was unfortunate not having him available during the playoff series last season against the Oilers. A fully intact Nice Line may have changed the outcome.

Crucial homestand upcoming

After finishing a tough road trip full of divisional opponents not too long ago, the Kings will have another four-game homestand upcoming. And LA should be considered the favorite in all but maybe one of those games.

The LA Kings open the stretch of home games against the struggling Ottawa Senators on Sunday night, followed by the Seattle Kraken, Arizona Coyotes, and Carolina Hurricanes. These games should be used as a time for the Kings to finally establish that missing identity they’ve longed for. It’ll be crucial for LA to find good results in these next four games, with a grueling season-long six-game road trip starting in eastern Canada coming up on the schedule.
