The LA Kings defeated the Florida Panthers Saturday night 5-4, but not without some fireworks in the final minute.
Late in Saturday night’s victory, Panthers forward Matthew Tkachuk became public enemy number one to the LA Kings and fans once again. With 37.9 seconds remaining, after a Jonathan Quick stop and a stoppage of play, Tkachuk put his hockey stick into Quick’s mask and poked his eye.

No penalty was called on the play. However, Quick didn’t forget and went after Tkachuk moments before the final buzzer sounded, which got everyone on the ice together.
Early Sunday morning, The NHL Department of Player Safety announced that Tkachuk would have a hearing for the incident. We should know more later today if they decide to suspend and/or fine Tkachuk for his actions.
Florida’s Matthew Tkachuk will have a hearing today for High-sticking Los Angeles’ Jonathan Quick.
