With just two days left until the NHL trade deadline, the rumors surrounding activity within the LA Kings organization appears to be ramping up. Per the latest, Los Angeles is interested in acquiring forward Conor Garland.

The Kings were interested in Garland when he was with the Coyotes, last offseason when he was a UFA, and they appear to still remain interested in the scrappy 26-year-old.

Garland is in the first year of a five-year, $24.8 million deal. But with Vancouver undergoing some changes within their front office, the Canucks appear to be willing to part with the talented winger.

Through 57 games, Garland has 14 goals and 18 assists for 31 points, including a goal and an assist on the power-play.

As The Fourth Period’s Dennis Bernstein and David Pagnotta are reporting, the Canucks are looking to acquire right-shot D man Helge Grans in a potential deal.

The Kings certainly have a plethora of right-side defensemen in their pipeline, and one or more was likely to be included in a trade package for help elsewhere on the roster.

Let’s see where this goes.
