LA Kings Prospect Update – Week 2/9

Another week has passed, and it’s time for another LA Kings‘ weekly prospect update. This week’s update saw two players have a strong week, making it a tough choice to make on who highlighted the week. Ultimately, that honor went to defenseman Henry Brzustewicz.

Brzustewicz — turned 19 during the week — played in three games for the London Knights (OHL) during the week. Although his 11-game point streak came to a halt in the first game of the week in a loss to the Kitchener Rangers, the young defenseman tallied all four of his points (1 G, 3 A) in the following two games.

His best performance came in the final game of the week, a 4-3 shootout win over the Soo Greyhounds. Brzustewicz recorded a goal, two secondary assists, and a shootout goal against fellow King prospect Carter George.

Brzustewicz has 40 points (16 G, 24 A) in 45 games with London and is logging plenty of ice time. He has seen time on London’s top power-play unit and the penalty kill in addition to his five-on-five usage.

  1. why even include Alexander Dergachyov or Bulat Shafigullin in prospects list ? Dergachyov was a 2015 year draft pick! Been in KHL like 10 years and dude is almost 30 years old lol ! Clearly he’s not ever gonna be a King let alone even come to NHL. Same goes for Shafigullin.
