Day one of the World Juniors is in the books as all six LA Kings prospects were in action. As we turn the page to day two, see how all six Kings prospects representing their country did on day one.
Jan Chovan (Slovakia)
Jan Chovan played on Slovakia’s top line in their 3-2 loss to Sweden. He saw time on the power play and led all skaters for Slovakia with 19:25 of ice time. He recorded one shot on goal and had a +1 rating.
Best of luck to Chovy at the #WorldJuniors! 🇸🇰

Petteri Rimpinen (Finland)
Petteri Rimpinen didn’t have to put up a showtime performance. In fact, he didn’t have to break a sweat. Finland won their game against Denmark, and Rimpinen only had to make eight saves on 10 shots (.800 sv%) in the team’s 6-2 victory. We also got to see him rock his awesome design on his goalie gear.
Petteri Rimpinen might have the nicest goalie gear setup in the HISTORY of the #WorldJuniors 😳🔥🇫🇮 pic.twitter.com/bjDxT8QQJS

Brendan McMorrow (USA)
Brendan McMorrow had a solid game for the USA. McMorrow was on the fourth line with AJ Spellacy and Will Zellers, and was arguably the best line for the USA. McMorrow recorded one assist, had a +3 rating, and tallied six shots on goal in 13:37 of ice time. He was all over the ice and was given player of the game honors for the USA side in their 6-3 victory over Germany.

Vojtěch Čihař (Czechia)
Vojtěch Čihař had a strong showing in Czechia’s 7-5 loss to Canada in a fun back-and-forth game. Čihař recorded one goal and two assists in 17:02 of ice time, playing on Czechia’s top line.
Just an example of what Vojtech Cihar is going to bring to the #MemorialCup host @Kelowna_Rockets in the New Year!

Čihař signed his entry-level contract on December 10th and is expected to join the Kelowna Rockets of the WHL once Czechia’s participation in the tournament is complete. Kelowna will host the 2026 Memorial Cup, and Čihař will play in that.
CIHAR IS A ROCKET! 🚀
The Kelowna Rockets announced today that they have officially signed import forward Vojtech Cihar, a 2025 second-round pick of the LA Kings who recently signed his NHL entry-level contract yesterday.

Liam Greentree (Canada)
Liam Greentree hardly saw any action for Canada. He had two shifts in the first period, one in the second, and none in the third for a total of 2:30 of ice time.
Liam Greentree (LAK) played just 2:30 for Team Canada tonight. Didn’t take a shift in the third period.

Carter George (Canada)
Carter George picked up the win in Canada’s 7-5 victory over Czechia. His 28 saves on 33 shots (.849 sv%) won’t look good on the box score, but three of the goals Czechia scored he had no chance on. Despite that, he made some great saves on quality chances from Czechia early in the contest.
