LA Kings Announce Roster Moves

The regular season is inching closer by the second, and that means roster decisions will start flowing through. For the LA Kings, those roster moves started on Sunday, but most of them took place this morning.

Assigned to the Ontario Reign

Players released from their PTO/ATO or ‘loaned’ to the Ontario Reign don’t require waivers.

That is a lot of youth injected into the Reign roster.

Placed on waivers

These players are placed on waivers with the purpose of being assigned to the AHL.

I expected most of those players to clear waivers, but I know the Kings will hold their breath, hoping Andre Lee and Akil Thomas clear waivers. This means Jeff Malott, who has had a phenomenal preseason, will fill in for the injured Corey Perry, with Samuel Helenius serving as the 13th forward.

Loaned to the OHL

The Windsor Spitfires will get their captain, Liam Greentree, back.

Greentree wasn’t eligible to start the year in the AHL due to his birthday, but he can join the Kings or Reign, if their season is still going, when Windsor’s season ends.
