LA Kings Prospect Update – Week 1/13

A week has passed, and it’s time for another LA Kings prospect update. Right-handed defenseman Matthew Mania highlighted this week’s update. Mania, drafted by the Kings in the fifth round in 2023, recorded three points (all in one game) in two games for the Flint Firebirds (OHL) over the weekend. All three of his points came in the Firebirds’ 5-4 win over the Owen Sound Attack.

His three-point game gave him 25 points (5 G, 20 A) in 43 games on the season. He also has seven points (2 G, 5 A) in his last four games. The 20-year-old has played on the top defensive pair and special teams for Flint. The Kings have until June 1st to sign him to an entry-level contract or they lose his rights.
