Carter George earned Goaltender of the Week in the OHL, posting a 2.46 GAA and a .931 save percentage in three games (two starts and one relief appearance). In addition to his solid week between the pipes, George recorded a goalie goal, becoming the first goalie in Owen Sound Attack and 11th in OHL history. George has a record of 4-8-4 with a 3.25 GAA and a .907 save percentage in 17 games for the Attack with a terrible defense in front of him.
Hampton Slukysnky also had a good week for Western Michigan University (NCAA). After making 27 saves on 28 shots faced in his only appearance against the number-eight ranked Colorado College, Slukynsky was named NCHC Rookie of the Week honors. He is off to a great start for WMU posting a 1.72 GAA and .944 save percentage in four games, splitting time in the crease with Cameron Rowe.
The days of the Kings being thin at the goalie position in the pipeline seem like a long time ago with George, Slukynsky, and Erik Portillo all showing promise.
