LA Kings Prospect Update – Week 10/7

The hockey season has started and many LA Kings prospects’ seasons are underway. With that, it’s time for our weekly Kings prospect update. If you are new to this I will explain how this segment works. Every week during the season there will be an update with stats on how the Kings’ prospects did during the week in their respective leagues, per the Elite Prospects website. Each update will feature a player who highlighted the week. There will be some changes this year. We won’t include prospects who started the year on the NHL roster (only will if they get loaned to Ontario at any point of the season) or veteran players on one-way or two-way NHL contracts playing in the AHL.

So, let’s get started!

Koehn Ziemmer highlighted this prospect update with six points (three goals and three assists) in three games for the Prince George Cougars (WHL). Ziemmer was eligible to play in the AHL with the Ontario Reign but was ultimately re-assigned to the WHL due to the limited playing time.

In his first game back with the Cougars, Ziemmer was penciled in as Prince George’s 2C and factored in on all three of the team’s goals with two goals and one assist (secondary) and registered 10 shots on goal in a 4-3 overtime loss to the Portland Winterhakws. Ziemmer scored on his first shift of the game to open the scoring. The 19-year-old would add a goal and two assists in the other two games of the week for the Cougars.
