Former LA Kings goalie, Jonathan Quick, signed a one-year deal with his favorite team growing up, the New York Rangers.

Quick, 37, said prior to last season that would like to keep playing when his contract expired. On Saturday, he was true to his word. While Quick isn’t the player he once was, he’ll provide valuable leadership as a mentor to current Rangers netminder Igor Shesterkin.
It was a rough 2022-2023 season for Quick. In 41 games combined with the LA Kings and Vegas Golden Knights, Quick posted a 3.41 GAA (Goals Against Average), a .882 save percentage, and a -17.2 GSAx (Goals Saved Above expected). While he didn’t play a single playoff game for Vegas, his leadership to Adin Hill ended up being a valuable asset.
Quick grew up a Rangers fan and idolized Rangers goalie Mike Richter growing up. It has to be a dream come true for him. Whether the three-time Stanley Cup winner calls it a career after the season remains to be seen.
