While you are getting ready to watch the LA Kings take on the St. Louis Blues, we have some breaking news to announce first.
Hearing #LAKings prospect Alex Laferriere is also leaving Harvard to sign after his sophomore season. He edged #Flames first-round pick Matt Coronato in scoring this year.
Laferriere is expected to burn the first year of his deal and play games for the Kings this regular season.

After a spectacular sophomore season (Junior class), Alex Laferriere will turn pro and sign his entry-level contract with the LA Kings. Harvard’s season came to an abrupt end Friday afternoon in an 8-1 loss to Ohio State. In the last 48 hours, four players from Harvard have turned pro and signed with their expected teams, with Laferriere being the latest one.
What’s a big shocker is according to Frank Seravalli of the Daily Faceoff, he is expected to play games for the LA Kings. We’ll see if that’s true and how many he’ll play. I personally expected him to join the Ontario Reign instead, but this is still good news. I am very high on him and he’s been one of those prospects that continues to climb in the organization.
Could not be more excited for Alex Laferriere to sign with LA.
One of my favorite prospects to watch over the last couple of years.
He’s going to be good.#GoKingsGo

I expected Laferriere to join the Reign if he turned pro. I love this. Welcome to LA! @roblaf_10 @alaf_14 #GoKingsGo https://t.co/hP8cdtAf5K
