8. Anaheim Ducks (6-17-3)
Last week: 8
Anaheim continues to hold down last place after a winless week, going 0-2-2 on a four-game road trip.
They nearly had their second regulation win of the season against the Minnesota Wild on Saturday, but the Wild tied the game at 4-4 with less than three minutes remaining in the third period and then won in a shootout.
Trevor Zegras, God bless him, continues to do what he can to make the Ducks watchable.

7. San Jose Sharks (8-16-4)
Last week: 7
They started a four-game road trip through the Atlantic Division with a 4-0 win over the Montreal Canadiens, but the Sharks didn’t pick up another point the rest of the trip.
Tomas Hertl had a good trip, though, with two-goal performances against both Montreal and the Ottawa Senators.

6. Vancouver Canucks (10-12-3)
Last week: 6
It truly seems like things can never be normal with the Canucks.
After starting the week with 5-1 losses to the Washington Capitals and Florida Panthers, it was reported that Brock Boeser, who had 14 points (3-11-14) in 18 games on the season, was going to be a healthy scratch against the Arizona Coyotes on Saturday. Not only that, but his agent had also been given permission to seek a trade.
Boeser did end up playing, though, and even scored the tying goal in the third period before Vancouver went on to win 3-2 in overtime.

5. LA Kings (13-10-4)
Last week: 4
A 1-1-2 homestand for the LA Kings last week, a week that saw their goal prevention issue come to a head with Tuesday’s 9-8 overtime loss to the Seattle Kraken and Cal Petersen being placed on waivers.
Tough week overall for the Kings, but at least there was a feel-good moment at the end of it with Samuel Fagemo’s first NHL goal.

4. Calgary Flames (11-10-3)
Last week: 5
Both Sean Monahan and Matthew Tkachuk made their returns to Calgary last week with the Canadiens and Panthers, respectively.
It was a successful revenge game for Monahan, who picked up two assists in a 2-1 Montreal victory. However, the Flames held Tkachuk off the scoresheet in a 6-2 win, defeating the Panthers for the second time in 11 days.
Jonathan Huberdeau recorded a goal and an assist against the Panthers, though, much to the delight of the Saddledome crowd.

Last week: 2
Overtime wins over the Kings and Capitals extended the Kraken’s winning streak to seven games before a 5-1 loss to the Panthers on Saturday.
Andre Burakovsky is looking like one of the offseason’s best signings. He’s been red hot lately with 10 points (5-5-10) in his last six games and leads Seattle with 25 points (9-16-25) in 24 games on the season.

1. Vegas Golden Knights (18-7-1)
Last week: 1
The Golden Knights are 2-1-0 on their road trip so far, picking up a 3-2 shootout win over the Columbus Blue Jackets and a 4-1 win over the Detroit Red Wings around a 4-3 loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins. They’ll wrap up their trip against the Boston Bruins on Monday in a game that will pit the top team in the Western Conference against, by points percentage, the top team in the NHL, and then they’ll host the Bruins on Sunday.
Phil Kessel has been fairly quiet for Vegas so far with just 11 points (5-6-11) in 26 games, but he picked up a goal and an assist in Saturday’s win in Detroit.
