Some Trevor Zegras magic helps the Ducks snap their losing streak, while the Oilers and Golden Knights are putting the heat on the LA Kings.
8. Seattle Kraken (22-41-6)
Last week: 8
Playoff odds: 0%
They dropped a pair of home games to the Vegas Golden Knights, but the Kraken started the week with a 6-1 win over the LA Kings and finished it with a 4-1 win over a Dallas Stars team that could’ve really used those two points on Sunday. Seattle’s quietly put together a decent stretch of hockey, having won five of nine games.
Jared McCann continued his career year by potting his 25th goal of the season on Sunday.

The Sharks are limping toward the finish line of another disappointing season and an 0-3-0 week drops them back down to seventh this week. At least Brent Burns scored in all three games?

The Ducks got back in the win column for the first time in nearly a month on Friday, snapping an 11-game skid with a 5-0 win over the Arizona Coyotes.
Trevor Zegras reminded everyone that this team was actually kind of fun at one point this season.
Getting denied between-the-legs, so scoring a Michigan instead. Just Trevor Zegras things 😂 pic.twitter.com/B4Swztzw3W

5. Vancouver Canucks (32-28-10)
Last week: 5
Playoff odds: 1.3%
Sunday’s 3-2 overtime loss to Vegas was a brutal blow for Vancouver. They’re now eight points back of them for the second Wild Card with just one game in hand. They do still have two more games left against the Golden Knights, but the Canucks’ playoff odds have cratered over the last week. They also dropped a pair of games to the St. Louis Blues.
It may not have been the nicest goal he’s ever scored, but Bo Horvat tied his career-high with his 27th goal of the season on Sunday.

Shea Theodore’s OT goal in Vancouver on Sunday gave the Golden Knights their fifth straight win.

Have they been fixed? Well, a soft schedule has probably helped — their last four games were against likely non-playoff teams. Vegas will certainly take it, though, given how rough of a stretch they’d had before. Even with those five straight wins, they’re just barely hanging on to a playoff spot, one point up on the Stars, who have three games in hand.

3. Edmonton Oilers (40-25-5)
Last week: 3
Playoff odds: 92.8%
Vegas stays put in fourth despite that five-game winning streak because Edmonton had a pretty great week, too. It started and finished with 6-1 stompings of the Coyotes and Ducks, respectively. In between was a key 4-3 shootout win over the Kings and then a 6-5 overtime win over the Blues, their 10th straight home win.
Leon Draisaitl hit both the 50-goal and 100-point marks on the season on Sunday.

2. LA Kings (38-23-10)
Last week: 2
Playoff odds: 92.4%
The Oilers aren’t moving up a spot either because it was a pretty good week for the Kings, too — at least after Monday — as the playoff race in the Pacific is really heating up. They bounced back from the 4-3 shootout loss in Edmonton with a 3-2 shootout win over the Calgary Flames and a 3-2 win over the Winnipeg Jets.
The biggest goal of the week probably came from Viktor Arvidsson. With under five minutes to go in the third period of Thursday’s game in Calgary, and just over two minutes after the Flames had taken a 2-1 lead, Arvidsson’s 19th goal of the season tied things back up, giving LA the opportunity to win the game in the shootout. Despite having missed 15 games this season, Arvidsson ranks third on the team in goals.
No one wants to score more than Viktor Arvidsson, we don’t care what anyone says.

1. Calgary Flames (40-19-9)
Last week: 1
Playoff odds: 99.9%
A rare tough week for the Flames. The only point they picked up was from the shootout loss to the Kings. They also suffered a 2-1 loss to the Colorado Avalanche and a 6-4 loss to the Blues, both at home.
Calgary still has a reasonably comfortable lead atop the Pacific — just three points up on LA, but with three games in hand. They aren’t promised anything from those games in hand, though, and a regulation loss to the Kings on Monday could start to make things interesting.
