In advance of Wednesday’s game against the Dallas Stars, the LA Kings have sent forward Lias Andersson to the Ontario Reign of the AHL for a conditioning stint.

Andersson, 23, has been sidelined with an injury and has not played since January 8. He has been skating with the team, and only recently was he seen in a regular jersey. In 13 NHL games this year, the Swedish forward has just one point; an assist back on December 5.

Acquired for a second-round pick in the 2020 NHL draft, Andersson has not taken the necessary steps in his development, and he appears to be a good non-tender candidate in the offseason.

In 36 career games with the LA Kings, he has three goals and four assists. He will be making his season debut with the Reign on Wednesday. Last season, Andersson was productive in the AHL, tallying six goals and 17 points in 15 games.

The LA Kings recalled Jaret Anderson-Dolan from Ontario on Tuesday, and he will travel with the team on their four-game road trip.
