Rookie Samuel Fagemo stepped into his spot on the top line and could be in line for his second NHL start against the Sharks on Monday.
As noted, the Kings have three huge games this week – in San Jose on Monday afternoon and then hosting the Lightning and Avalanche on Tuesday and Thursday, respectively.
Kempe tallied his 17th goal of the season in Saturday’s 3-1 victory over the Kraken, marking a career-high in goals for the Swedish forward.
Besides the Kempe news, the team also announced that Martin Frk, who was previously in protocol, has been returned to Ontario.
The @LAKings have made the following player transactions:
Martin Frk (F) has been reassigned to the @ontarioreign from the taxi squad.
Adrian Kempe (F) has entered COVID protocol.
