LA Kings Jonathan Quick

Given the depth of Kings centre prospects (Kupari, Byfield, Vilardi, Turcotte) and the centers they already have, which one do you think gets moved? — Jordan C.

The thing is, I don’t think you need to move any of them. The beauty of the centreman position is that you can constantly shift them over to the wing; meanwhile, you can’t just shift a winger over to play centre.

Ultimately, I think Kupari will become a full-time winger at some point. He doesn’t look noticeable when he’s out on the ice to me, which can be a problem for your centreman, considering they usually dictate the tone. We’ve already seen him play wing at times, but I think shortly, we’ll see him entirely switch over to a winger spot, probably on the right-side.

We could see Turcotte eventually move to the wing as well. Through his three games thus far in the NHL, he has a 44.4 faceoff percentage, not significant. However, he has the skill to be a great top-six winger at some point.
