The LA Kings made a flurry of roster moves on Thursday in what feels like a daily occurrence at this point. Vladimir Tkachev and Jacob Moverare were both recalled from Ontario. Meanwhile, Quinton Byfield was activated off the COVID list and loaned to the Ontario Reign:

Tkachev played in just four NHL games to start the 2021-22 season before he was sent down to Ontario of the AHL. During his brief tenure with the Kings, the 26-year-old collected two assists and was very noticeable on the team’s powerplay.

The Russian forward has been really productive in the American League, racking up four goals and five assists with a +4 over his last 10 games. In all, Tkachev has 18 points in 15 games with Ontario.

Jacob Moverare has been recalled a couple of times earlier this season, especially since the NHL and NHLPA agreed to bring back the taxi squad. The Swedish defenseman has three goals and five assists in 20 games with the Reign this season.

And lastly, Quinton Byfield was close to returning to the Kings before he went into COVID protocol during the NHL’s week-long pause. The Kings 2020 second overall pick had no points in the four-game conditioning stint with Ontario after coming back from fracturing his ankle during the preseason.

Assuming no setbacks or further pauses in the schedule, I would expect Byfield’s stint in the AHL to be brief.
