Whether you’re following news about COVID-19 or politics, it can be easy to think negatively about the world. That, however, only makes the uplifting, feel-good stories that much more rewarding. One such story includes a sportswriter who covers the LA Kings.
This particular feel-good story is one of patience, perseverance, and courage, covering the journey of a Person Who Stutters who fought through a plethora of struggles to find success as a sportswriter.
“All the Right Words: My Journey as a Sportswriter Who Stutters” is the story of a Person Who Stutters has faced a long and winding battle that includes exclusion, disrespect, and ignorance paired with depression, anxiety, and an early cerebral palsy diagnosis along with a lifelong stutter.
Additionally, the foreword is by former NHL goaltender, and fellow Person Who Stutters, Eddie Lack.
My maiden book is officially available in paperback in 🇨🇦 & 🇺🇸

For this eventual sportswriter, he found an escape through sports. However, since he wasn’t much of an athlete, he took his investment in the industry in a much different capacity, blending it with his love of writing and how it made him feel to witness, among other events, two of his long-suffering teams win their long-elusive championships.
From feeling left out by those who didn’t understand his affliction, this eventual sportswriter was determined to create his own path and make his own way, breaking away from the shackles of self-pity and forced complacency to make a name for himself.
Check out my friend Ryan Cowley's story on how he took the adversity of being a stutterer into a successful sportswriting career. I also wrote the foreword so buy yourself a copy!

Growing up the youngest of three boys to being painfully shy, the story’s protagonist, if you will, always had trouble fitting in, yet found a way to stand out and make himself – and those closest to him – proud.
