The Rookie Tournament is slated to take place in Glendale, Arizona from September 17th to September 20th. Here are the highlights of the roster the LA Kings will be sending.
The rookies of the southwestern United States teams of the Pacific Division will collide in a tournament hosted by the Arizona Coyotes. The rosters look like a who’s who of recent first-round picks, with the following teams being represented: The LA Kings, Anaheim Ducks, San Jose Sharks, Vegas Golden Knights, Colorado Avalanche, and host Arizona Coyotes. The Kings will only play games against the Avalanche, Golden Knights, and Coyotes — they will not play the Sharks or the Ducks. All games will take place at either the Gila River Arena in Glendale or the Ice Den in Scottsdale, Arizona.
The LA Kings 28-man contingent is certainly impressive. The forward group is led by Quinton Byfield, Rasmus Kupari, Arthur Kaliyev, Samuel Fagemo, Tyler Madden, Martin Chromiak, Alex Turcotte, and this year’s second-round draft pick, Francesco Pinelli.
The defense will be led by this year’s first-round draft pick Brandt Clarke, and he will be joined by Jordan Spence, Helge Grans, Sean Durzi, Markus Phillips, and four others. Representing the LA Kings goaltenders will be Lukas Parik, Jacob Ingham, and John Lethemon.
This tournament will provide a great opportunity for the LA Kings rookies to get playing time as they prepare for the start of the team’s training camp. The games from this rookie tournament will not be televised, but they will be streamed on the internet. To watch the games, you can go to http://arizonacoyotes.com/rookiefaceoff.
