The LA Kings AHL affiliate, the Ontario Reign has officially announced their 2021-22 regular-season schedule.
Ontario Reign hockey is back! The Reign will open their 2021-22 AHL regular season at home against the San Diego Gulls on October 16th. After the San Diego game, the Reign will play four more in a row at home before playing their first game on the road on October 29th against the brand new Abbotsford Canucks.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Ontario Reign played all their home games last season at the Toyota Sports Performance Center in El Segundo, California – the practice facility for the LA Kings. This season they will return to their home rink at the Toyota Arena in Ontario, California.
The Ontario Reign will once again play in the AHL Pacific Division. They will be joined by the Abbotsford Canucks, Bakersfield Condors, Colorado Eagles, Henderson Silver Knights, San Diego Gulls, San Jose Barracuda, Stockton Heat, and Tuscon Roadrunners.
The Ontario Reign will be playing a full sixty-eight game schedule in the 2021-22 season. Other than three games against the Grand Rapids Griffins, all the Ontario Reign’s regular-season games will be played within the Pacific Division.
The 2022 AHL All-Star Classic will be held in Laval, Quebec, on February 6th and February 7th. The event will be hosted by the Laval Rocket – the AHL affiliate of the Stanley Cup finalist Montreal Canadiens.
The AHL will officially announce the playoff plan for the 2021-22 season after its Board of Governors meeting, held in August. The AHL’s streaming service, AHLTV, will once again be available so that fans can view all the Reign games, both home and away.
The Head Coach for the Reign will once again be John Wroblewski. His assistants are Chris Hajt, Craig Johnson, Matt Millar, and Brad Schuler. The General Manager of the Ontario Reign is Richard Seeley.
