The LA Kings will play a total of eight preseason games, including their annual Kings versus Kings game to open the slate of games.
Unlike last year where the LA Kings went from having ten months off to being thrown into meaningful games, the 2021-22 season should begin to resemble some normalcy. On Tuesday, the team officially announced the preseason schedule, featuring eight games. The Kings will begin their preseason slate with their annual Kings versus Kings game on September 26. From there, the club will travel to face Arizona and San Jose on the road before hosting the Vegas Golden Knights in the Frozen Fury in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Only two games will be played at STAPLES Center, hosting Arizona on October 5 and Anaheim on October 9. It’s interesting the preseason is so jam-packed with Coyotes games, considering they are moving to the Central Division. Per NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman’s press conference at the end of June, the league will be releasing the full 2021-22 regular season schedule prior to the NHL Draft on July 23 and 24.
